Dermal Filler

Losing volume in the face and other areas of the body is associated with the aging process. As we get older we start to lose collagen and elastin. These are two of the most important ingredients that help keep your face youthful and defined.

When we start to lose these proteins we notice are face beginning to drop or sag. That's where a Dermal Filler treatment at Prim Aesthetics can help!

How Dermal Fillers Help

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours.

Dermal fillers primarily use hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps maintain hydration and add volume, shape, and definition back to the treated area.

Dermal fillers can be used on various parts of the face, including:

  • Cheeks: To restore lost volume and create a more youthful contour.
  • Lips: To enhance fullness, shape, and definition.
  • Nasolabial Folds: To smooth out deep lines and folds.
  • Marionette Lines: To reduce the appearance of lines extending from the mouth to the chin.
  • Under-Eye Area: To fill in hollows and reduce dark circles.
  • Jawline and Chin: To create a more defined and sculpted appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Results can last from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of filler. The longevity of dermal fillers varies based on several factors, including the specific product used, the area treated, and individual patient characteristics such as metabolism and lifestyle.

Dermal fillers are generally safe, but like any aesthetic treatment, there can be some minor side effects:

Swelling: Mild to moderate swelling is common after filler injections, particularly in areas with thin skin like the lips. This usually subsides within 24-48 hours.

Redness: Temporary redness at the injection site is a common reaction and typically resolves within a few hours.

Bruising: Bruising can occur, especially in areas with many blood vessels, like under the eyes. Bruises may last a few days to a week but can be minimized by avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements before the procedure.

Tenderness: Some tenderness at the injection sites is normal and should diminish within a few days.

You will see immediate results after the treatment, but the final outcome may take a few days to a couple of weeks to fully develop. Here’s a more detailed timeline of what to expect:

Immediate Improvement: Right after the injection, you’ll notice an immediate improvement in the treated areas. Your skin will look fuller, and wrinkles or folds will appear smoother.

Initial Swelling: Some swelling, redness, and minor bruising are common immediately after the procedure. This can temporarily make the results look more pronounced than the final outcome.

Settling Period: Over the next few days to a week, the initial swelling and redness will subside, and the filler will integrate more naturally into your skin. It can take up to two weeks for the filler to fully settle and for the final, refined results to be visible.

Follow-Up: A follow-up appointment might be scheduled to assess the results and make any necessary adjustments.
