PRP Hair Restoration
At some point, most of us will begin to experience some form of hair loss or hair thinning. Genetics, age, and environmental factors can all play a factor in this.
At Prim Aesthetics we have a solution for both men and women who are looking for fuller and healthier hair- PRP Hair Restoration.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Hair Restoration is an innovative treatment that uses your own blood’s platelets to stimulate hair growth. This minimally invasive procedure has gained popularity due to its natural approach to hair restoration and its effectiveness in promoting hair follicle regeneration.
Here’s a comprehensive look at how PRP Hair Restoration works and the process of extracting PRP.

How PRP Works
PRP utilizes growth factors and proteins found in your blood’s platelets to stimulate the hair follicles and promote healing and regeneration.
It starts with a blood draw similar to a routine blood test. The blood sample is placed in a centrifuge, a machine that spins at high speed to separate the blood into its various components. This process typically takes about 10-15 minutes.
During centrifugation, the blood separates into three layers:
- Red blood cells
- Platelet-poor plasma
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
The PRP layer contains a high concentration of platelets and growth factors and is carefully extracted for use in the treatment. Finally, the extracted PRP is then injected into the scalp in areas experiencing hair thinning or loss.
Once injected, the growth factors in PRP go to work, promoting healing and the regeneration of hair follicles. The growth factors help to:
- Increase blood supply to the hair follicles.
- Trigger natural hair growth and prolong the growth phase of the hair cycle.
- Strengthen existing hair and improve hair thickness.
